I grew up around family businesses, so I learned early how stressful self-employment can be. But I also found out it's exciting to be in charge of your own destiny.

Prior to 1990, I cut my accounting teeth in a variety of corporate jobs. My last position, with a pharmaceutical manufacturer, included complex job costing and inventory control, supervising the office and computer staffs, managing the full accounting cycle, and processing a large payroll. I was also part of the team that established standard operating procedures throughout the plant, to streamline workflow between departments.

However, while I enjoyed meeting these challenges, it just wasn't always satisfying to work for large companies.

Meanwhile, I watched my native West Pasco area continue to grow, with more small businesses in the community every year. I realized that if I returned to private practice, I could put my skills to work for some of these entrepreneurs, so in 1990 I started Right On The Numbers. It's very rewarding to help people get the most out of their resources!
